Russian Tea Cakes

Today is December 4th and that my friends is National Cookie day. We’re baking up my favorite cookie to share with you. Russian Tea Cakes are my favorite because they remind me of the holidays, they remind me of my grandma’s house, and the best thing about them is that they melt in your mouth while leaving you very satisfied. What is Your favorite cookie?

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup confectioners’ sugar for decoration

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, cream butter and vanilla until smooth. Combine the 6 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar and flour; stir into the butter mixture until just blended. Mix in the chopped walnuts. Roll dough into 1 inch balls, and place them 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes in the preheated oven. When cool, roll in remaining confectioners’ sugar.

    I still am not used to the WORDPRESS way of commenting… the comment on the TOP, but everything else (facebook, tweets) on the bottom…
    anyway- these are some of my favorite cookies! I need to get this recipe to my personal, live-in chef right away!!

    (that would be my 14 year old son)
